Regenerative Joint Pain & Sports Medicine Treatments

Nonsurgical Options to Help You Move, Recover & Perform Your Best

Joint pain, tendon injuries, and chronic overuse conditions can interfere with everything from exercise and athletics to everyday movement. At Perform Medical, we offer nonsurgical treatment options designed to address common joint and soft tissue concerns while helping patients stay active and perform at their best.

Our regenerative joint pain and sports medicine services include focused low-intensity shockwave therapy, ultrasound-guided PRP injections, and ultrasound-guided steroid injections.

Personalized Treatment for Joint Pain & Sports Injuries

Not every joint or tendon condition requires surgery. Depending on your symptoms, diagnosis, and goals, a nonsurgical treatment approach may help support recovery, improve function, and reduce discomfort.
Our providers evaluate each patient individually and develop a treatment plan based on the area being treated, the nature of the condition, and your personal activity and performance goals.
We offer treatment for select conditions affecting the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, feet, and ankles.

Conditions We Treat

Shoulder

Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy

Rotator cuff tendinopathy can develop from repetitive use, overuse, sports activity, or age-related changes and may cause pain or difficulty with certain shoulder movements.

Calcific Tendinitis of the Rotator Cuff

Calcific tendinitis occurs when calcium deposits develop within the rotator cuff tendons and may contribute to shoulder pain, inflammation, and restricted movement.

Partial-Thickness Rotator Cuff Tears

We evaluate and treat select partial-thickness rotator cuff tears involving less than 50% of the tendon using nonsurgical treatment options when appropriate.

Adhesive Capsulitis

Also known as frozen shoulder, adhesive capsulitis can cause progressive stiffness, pain, and reduced range of motion in the shoulder.

Elbow

Tennis Elbow

Lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow, is an overuse condition that can cause pain along the outside of the elbow and may occur with sports, exercise, work, or repetitive daily activities.

Medial Epicondylitis

Sometimes called golfer’s elbow, medial epicondylitis affects the tendons along the inside of the elbow and may cause discomfort with gripping, lifting, or repetitive arm movement.

Hip

Gluteal Tendinopathy / Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome

Gluteal tendinopathy and greater trochanteric pain syndrome, or GTPS, can cause pain along the outside of the hip and may affect walking, exercise, sleep, and daily movement.

Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy

Proximal hamstring tendinopathy affects the upper portion of the hamstring near the hip and may cause persistent discomfort during running, exercise, prolonged sitting, or other activities.

Knee

Knee Arthritis

Knee arthritis may contribute to pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced mobility. For appropriate patients, nonsurgical treatment options may be considered as part of a personalized joint pain management plan.

Patellar Tendinopathy

Patellar tendinopathy affects the tendon connecting the kneecap to the shinbone and is commonly associated with repetitive jumping, running, athletics, and other high-impact activities.

Foot & Ankle

Chronic Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel and foot pain. Chronic cases may persist despite rest, stretching, footwear changes, or other conservative measures.

Our Nonsurgical Treatment Options

Focused Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy

Focused shockwave therapy uses targeted Low-intensity shockwave energy applied to the treatment area. It may be considered for certain chronic tendon and soft tissue conditions as part of a nonsurgical treatment plan. Low-intensity shockwave therapy is different from many of the acoustic wave therapies offered at other clinics, and is the only therapy actually backed by science and extensive research.

Treatment recommendations are based on the condition being treated, the severity and duration of symptoms, and the patient's individual goals.

Ultrasound-Guided PRP Injections

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, uses a concentrated preparation derived from a patient's own blood. PRP may be used in select joint and tendon conditions as part of a regenerative treatment approach.

Ultrasound guidance allows the provider to visualize the treatment area and precisely guide the injection to the intended location.

Ultrasound-Guided Steroid Injections

Steroid injections may be recommended for certain joint or soft tissue conditions when reducing inflammation is an appropriate part of the treatment plan.

Using ultrasound guidance helps the provider visualize the anatomy and accurately place the medication within the targeted area.

Why Ultrasound Guidance Matters

Precision is especially important when treating joints, tendons, and surrounding soft tissues.

Ultrasound allows our providers to view the treatment area in real time, identify important anatomical structures, and guide injections directly to the intended location.

This added visualization can help support accurate treatment placement and a more personalized approach to care.

A Treatment Plan Built Around Your Goals

Whether your goal is getting back to exercise, staying active, returning to recreational sports, or simply moving more comfortably in everyday life, we begin by understanding what is limiting you and what you want to accomplish.

Your consultation may include a review of your symptoms, health history, activity level, and previous treatments. From there, your provider can determine whether one of our nonsurgical joint pain or sports medicine treatments may be appropriate for you.

Our goal is simple: to help you move forward and Perform your best.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Perform Medical offers several nonsurgical options for select joint, tendon, and soft tissue conditions, including focused low-intensity shockwave therapy, ultrasound-guided PRP injections, and ultrasound-guided steroid injections.
We currently treat select conditions affecting the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, feet, and ankles, including rotator cuff tendinopathy, tennis elbow, knee arthritis, plantar fasciitis, patellar tendinopathy, and other conditions listed above.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is prepared using a small sample of the patient’s own blood, which is processed to create a concentrated platelet preparation that can then be injected into a targeted treatment area when clinically appropriate.

Ultrasound allows the provider to visualize the joint, tendon, and surrounding structures in real time. This helps guide the injection to the intended treatment area.

The appropriate treatment depends on your condition, symptoms, health history, previous treatments, and goals. Your provider will evaluate these factors during your consultation and recommend an individualized treatment plan. Some injuries may require further evaluation with an orthopedic physician, especially if surgery is indicated.
